We must re-grasp the idea of church membership as being the membership of the body of Christ and as the biggest honour which can come man’s way in this world.
— Martyn Lloyd Jones

What is membership?

Church membership is essentially a commitment between an individual, a local church (body of believers) and that church’s pastors whereby the church, to the best of its ability will seek to affirm the member’s profession of faith and commit to shepherding and discipling the member for life. The member will respectively commit to a life of following Jesus Christ, abiding by the church’s covenant beliefs, and willingly submitting to the church’s pastors and leadership for discipleship and spiritual growth.

Membership Process

If you feel led to be a part of our church, the first step is to attend one of our CLASS 101 membership classes, and then see the other steps below.

  • To join our church, please talk with Pastor Chris Weaver and plan to attend one of our CLASS 101 events where you can hear more about the history of the church, what we believe and how we go about ministering to our world. It also gives us a chance to hear more about you and your family!

These CLASS 101 events are typically held on Sunday afternoons or evenings. Childcare is typically provided. Please email us to sign up.

  • Step 2 of our membership process is where we will schedule a time to meet with you.

    Here we will:

    • hear your personal testimony and what Jesus is doing in your life

    • answer any other questions you have about our church and the membership process

    • ask if you are willing to personally commit to living under the shepherding authority of our pastors and body of believers and according to the covenant beliefs of FBC Santo

  • The next step of membership is to find a place to serve! We believe the Bible makes it clear that God has uniquely gifted each person with abilities that are to be used for His glory, serving others, and building up the church. There are so many opportunities to serve, from helping in our food pantry, to helping teach kids during Bible study!

  • It’s hard to get to you know and for you to get to know others if you stay on the fringes! We want all of our members to get plugged into one of our small group bible studies. Here you will have a chance to be known, loved, cared for, encouraged, and challenged. Groups range from senior adults to youth and everything in between, and meet on different days and times. There is a place for you!
